Michelle Wood

Dr. Michelle Wood

Principal of Beasley Elementary School

Dr. Michelle Wood is the principal of Beasley Elementary School, bringing over 25 years of experience in education, including 24 years in the Mehlville School District. Dr. Wood began her career in Mehlville as a high school social studies teacher and tennis coach at Oakville High School. She later moved into administration, serving as an assistant principal at Buerkle Middle School and at Trautwein and Wohlwend elementary schools before becoming principal at Beasley.

She earned a bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University, a master's degree in school administration from the University of Missouri-St. Louis and a doctorate in educational leadership from Maryville University. As a school leader, Dr. Wood values working with Beasley's staff and Jaguar families. Her guiding principle is to help each student learn, grow and be prepared for success in life.

Outside of school, family is important to Dr. Wood. She enjoys beach vacations with her husband and two children. She also likes playing golf and pickleball and taking walks with her dog, Conner.
